Atelier Source Clair
Source fieldwork

Citation shows whose version of France the model trusted.

Atelier Source Clair studies the small, consequential handoff between a claim and the source that receives credit for it. In French business answers, a company page, trade body note, directory profile and English mirror can all sit near the same fact. The lab records how AI engines choose among them, where attribution shifts, and when an answer repeats a French source without naming the page that carried the work.

«…a French manufacturer's technical detail, [ cited to a regional directory] that copied one shortened fact from the original note…»

How the lab reads citations

From a claim to the source that received the credit.

An observation starts with a prompt, an answer, the cited source, the visible source path and the attribution behavior around a specific claim. Samples are built from practical French business and topic queries, including company names, categories, regional modifiers, comparison prompts and bilingual variants.

Repeatability matters because one strange citation may be noise; a source choice that returns across related runs begins to look like a pattern.

«…first-party pages appear to supply the fact while a [ directory or press fragment] receives the citation…»

French and English source paths · 4 runs · fr-FR / en

The lab is watching how French and English source paths compete inside answers about local businesses, sector terms and regional expertise. Particular attention goes to cases where first-party pages appear to supply the fact while directories, press fragments or institutional summaries receive the citation.

From the research desk

Research notes examine citation moves in ordinary business answers — a treatment page credited to a directory, a manufacturer described through a copied listing, an English mirror chosen over a fuller French page.

When a model cites France, the named source is part of the answer.

Atelier Source Clair follows that name back through the public trail and marks where credit held, slipped or disappeared.
